fut longtemps pratiqué par le passé, un technique éprouvée dans la
théologie morale. Le sur-mesure appelle une gestion du casuel. On
trouve dans la notion de « casuel » deux traits majeurs (...) :
d'un part, l'impossibilité de prévoir, de programmer, qui est
évoquée par le terme latin casus signifiant l'événement imprévu,
fortuit ; d'autre part, le casus désigne dans le langage juridique
un fait concret, réel ou supposé

Se préparer au terrain, un « casuel »
« Never shot in Mongolia itself but have shot in the northern
deserts of China, Afghanistan & Tajekistan Off the top of my
head.... technically- Take a second camera. A water/sand proof
housing is essential. Lots of stock and back up batteries. A
couple of battery operated lights. Logistically- If your going
with a crew (and look like a crew) then get permissions. Notify
your embassy Find some fixers before you get there if possible.
Don't underestimate how slow travel can be in these regions.
Unless the content of your programme is controversial, don't
bullshi* the authorities. If you have to lie then be really
careful and make sure you have a good cover story

« I´ve just come back from 4 1/2 weeks of shooting in Bangladesh.
My advice to all who are reluctant to take ther DVX to a third
world country for fear of its safe return (or their own ;)) is to
breathe deeply and take the risk. For me it was certainly worth
it.
I shot a portrait of a rickshaw art painter in the capital of
Dhaka, eid-ul-azha mass sacrifice of cows in the streets of Old
Dhaka (what a bloody mess) and a shipbreaking yard near
Chittagong. The most difficult thing at first was pulling out the
camera in the middle of a street with all these dozens of hyper-
curious people forming a gazing croud around me, sometimes
spoiling my pictures.
Shooting at the shipbreaking yard proved to be exceptionally
hazardous and challenging to my DVX. Very bright sunlight, strong
wind, small salt particles, smoke, dust, dirt, sparks, vibrating
surfaces (huge steel plates), and most of all getting permission
