map... (We did finally find the town by the way).

Mongolians, however, are strong advocates of Mongolian GPS -

the Ger Positioning System. They locate the nearest ger, ask

where the next ger is in the general direction in which they

are travelling, and there they ask again. Works most of the

time, and one tends to get fed as a bonus !

Réservez les accessoires secondaires (accumulateurs,

chargeurs, câbles,cassettes, housse de pluie et épaulière...)

pour le sac-à-dos, que vous pouvez porter pendant le tournage

sans être déséquilibré, ni mal de dos. J'ai renoncé au sac à

bandoulière dangereux pour le déséquilibre latéral qu'il

occasionne sur les passages étroits en balcon et les falaises.

Voyez en fonction de votre projet, du volume du matériel...

LowePro fabrique des sacs solides, bien pensés, qui disposent

d'une housse anti-pluie intégrée (« all weather »): logée dans

une poche fermée, elle se rabat sur le sac en cas d'averses.

Mettez néanmoins toute votre matériel dans des sacs ziplock

par sécurité.

 Dans les endroits exposés à la malveillance, rendez discret

votre sac à bandoulière en l'anonymant :

« Outside resort areas, security is poor. Your camcorder

case had might as well bear a flashing neon sign "Take me;

easy pickin's." Disguise the case or use a small tough old

suitcase. Lock your valuables in the hotel safe. When

hiking, bring a backpack and keep your camcorder and other

valuables in it. Never leave anything in a parked car, even
