4 Putting the Surrounder into operation
Before you put the Surrounder into operation, please first check
that the Surrounder’s volume control is set to minimum.
Connecting the Surrounder to the mains
Connect the DC socket of the connection cable to the cable of the power supply unit.
Plug the power supply unit into a wall socket. The power supply unit may remain
connected to the mains as its current consumption is very low (less than 2 W) if the
volume is set to minimum. However, to protect the environment you should save energy
and unplug the power supply unit when you are not going to use the Surrounder for
some time (e.g. when you are away on holiday).
The illustrations below also show how to connect the Surrounder to the mains.
5 Connection to the sound source
The Surrounder can be connected to almost any stereo and multi-channel sound source.
Please note that the best acoustic result is achieved if the Surrounder is connected to a multi-
channel surround system.
4-CHANNEL SOUNDCARD (PC)
A 4-channel soundcard (PC) supplies the corresponding front and rear, left and right
speakers with four different audio signals.
Only connect the Surrounder to a 4-channel PC soundcard, never connect it to the
normal speaker outputs of a computer (this may cause severe damage to your
Surrounder).
Connect the jack plug labelled “F” to the output labelled “Front” on the PC soundcard.
Connect the jack plug labelled “R” to the output labelled “Rear” on the PC soundcard.
