With the Solution-D system, Neumann has now succeeded in bringing the

dynamic range and signal fidelity of the best analog microphones into the

digital realm. This means that, for the first time, the whole audio produc-

tion chain is entirely digital.

and reduces stress in the studio and in live situ-

ations.

particularly due to faster post-production and

shorter setup times for live concerts.

Lower investment costs, since separate A/D

converters and preamps are no longer needed.

This also means space and weight savings

(e.g. in the OB van).

Pure Neumann sound in the digital domain. The signal is converted di-

rectly at the capsule via an exclusive Neumann A/D converter. Concerns

about optimal preamps and A/D converters, level mismatches, signal

bottlenecks, noise and harmonic distortion are things of the past.

Different types of interface are available: a) the DMI-2/DMI-8, RCS

software-controlled, fully-featured, two-/eight-channel AES/EBU units,

or b) a simple Connection Kit, connected directly to the microphone or

in-line to the cable, which converts AES42 signals to either AES/EBU or

S/PDIF, depending upon the model.
